The Youth and Young Adult Ministry of Bethany Baptist Church is composed of youth of all ages.  The purpose of the Ministry is to promote and enhance students' knowledge in four basic areas: spirituality, skill enhancement, community service and fun.

(1) Spiritual Development. Our first priority is to establish a more intimate relationship with Christ.  Members of the Youth and Young Adult Ministry are encouraged to attend Bible Study and Sunday School and to actively participate in Christian education programs.

(2) Skill Enhancement.  The Youth and Young Adult Ministry is responsible for planning and coordinating workshops that will help build and develop career and educational skills.  The workshops cover topics such as resume writing, mock interviews, money management and more intimate topics such as relationships, peer pressure and dating.

The Ministry also includes a mentoring and tutoring component that prepares students for the SATs and Regents exams and strengthens their comprehensive understanding in other subject areas where they may need assistance.

(3) Community Service.  An important part of the Youth and Young Adult ministry is to instill in youth the importance of giving back to the community.  Through our motto: "Those who Learn Must Teach", our goal is to build a generation of leaders who will commit to sharing lessons learned from their experience.

(4) Fun.  Of course, we want the youth to have fun.  Therefore, we have planned a number of fun-filled events and trips that they will enjoy.  So far, we have scheduled a group trip to several historic and cultural events including the world famous Apollo Theater, the slavery exhibit at the New York Historical Society, bowling and trips to sporting events.
